PS4 Pro 4K games boost, GTA 5 Online expansion, Red Dead Redemption 2 update

Sony reportedly have big plans for their upgraded console and could be hoping to extend the PS4 brand’s shelf-life with it.

By reducing the price of the gaming machine in the future, it could help bridge the gap between the launch of their next major project.

It would also help keep it competitive against Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox One X, which releases next month.

The release of Life is Strange: Before the Storm Episode 2 - Brave New World has arrived for fans, who will be eager to see what comes next in the new standalone adventure.

The official teaser for the new instalment confirms that Episode 2: Brave New World showcases new characters and environments alongside others that are making a return from the first game.

“As Chloe and Rachel’s family life continues to crumble, their friendship blossoms and the two girls discuss running away together,” the official description explains.

“However, before they can go Chloe gets involved with an errand for Frank Bowers, which puts her in a dangerous situation and exposes an uglier side to Arcadia Bay…”

As most fans will know, Before the Storm is set in Arcadia Bay, three years before the events of the first game in the series.

The new episode launch also comes with a special bonus for Sony PS4 Pro owners. Square Enix have confirmed the release of new support for the console, meaning an upgrade patch that will upscale the games graphics.

“Although PC players have been able to enjoy the game in 4K resolution since the release of Episode 1, we are happy to announce that PlayStation Pro owners can now play all episodes in 4K by offering a 'high resolution' mode.” Said Jeff Litchford, Vice President – Deck Nine Games.

As previously reported, Transform Races lets players transition between land, sea and air in a single race.

"Transform Races allow for instant mid-race transition between land, sea and air vehicles as players traverse courses that span Los Santos’ streets, harbours, and skies," reads a Rockstar post.

"Transform between a wide array of vehicle types - from Supers and Off-Roaders, to Boats, Jet Skis, Planes, Helicopters and more.

"These new and unique stunt tracks will also feature Warps, new checkpoint types that allow for instant mid-race jumps from place to place across the map, allowing for a huge range of new Stunt Race types."

Transform Races will be followed by new adversary modes and even a new vehicle that shares similarities with the Batmobile.

New adversary modes include Condemned, which is described as a "free-for-all with one player on the clock as a dead man walking".

"The only chance at survival through passing this death sentence on to an opponent."

Dogfight, meanwhile, lets players live out their "fighter pilot fantasies and send the opposition spiralling to their doom".

Red Dead Redemption 2 fans have been treated to a brand new trailer for the upcoming Rockstar title.

The teaser trailer reveals more about the storyline for the upcoming PS4 and Xbox One game and the characters you'll meet along the way.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will introduce new character Arthur Morgan and will see the return of Dutch Van Der Linde.

The trailer shows a younger Dutch, so it looks like Red Dead Redemption II is a prequel - as was heavily rumoured.

It raises the possibility of Red Dead Redemption's hero John Marston making a dramatic return to the series.

Rockstar Games said: "Today we are proud to present the all-new trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2, the story of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van Der Linde gang as they rob, fight and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive.

"Coming Spring 2018 to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems."

While a definitive release date was missing from the trailer, Rockstar Games is sticking to the spring 2018 release window.

This is good news for fans worried about another delay.
